Information for Windows MCE users in Singapore
I’m an MCE user since the days of XP MCE in Singapore and have always struggled with the zero-support for/from our local providers! With the recent change by both Mediacorp (switching from their old EPG to the new xinmsn ajax guide) and now with Starhub screwing with all of our lives mixing up all the channels and launching a new guid of their own) I was stuck without a guide for my windows Vista and Windows 7 Media Centre setups and a very unhappy family…
I wrote a few server-side scripts to scrape the data from the new guides into a simple format that TVXB can read and now have my Mediacorp and Starhub EPG back up and running! I figure after all my searches others were hurting too and I set up this blog to share my quick fix with others. Hopefully I’ll also learn more about how others are using their MCE setups here in SG!

It’s certainly been tough of late trying to find out what folks are doing in Singapore. hptc-gear.com had a useful forum, but closed down many months ago.
I got a whole lot of useful information on Singpore configurations (for TVxb) from that site, and it pointed me to alternative HTPC software (viz GBPVR/PVRX2 and Mediaportal).
